Canada-Italia 75th Anniversary Diplomatic Relations

The Canadian Embassy in Rome commissioned Ginette Caron to design a graphic identity to represent the “75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Canada and Italy”(1947-2022).

The result was developped as an identity generated on multiple variants of the same logo in order to maintain the hegemony of the official institutional logo of Canada.

These logos were generated from the colors and shape of the graphic elements common to the flags of both nations (Canada-Italy). The maple leaf is inserted in negative between the geometric elements, as to recall Lao Tzé: “It is in the void that the essence of things is found”.

All these elements were freely recomposed into different graphic compositions used on social media, print and merchandising items.
