Le voci segrete del bosco, GMS
Gruppo Mauro Saviola
SASMIL Fair,
Milan, 2002
Exhibit design at the Sasmil Fair in Milan for a group of 17 industries specialized in wood transformation and related chemicals.
The concept is to reconstruct a forest into the Fair to show how GMS is sensitive to ecosystem by using only recycled wood.
A green forest, abstract and imaginary, crossed by a technological aurora boreal that runs between the “trees” exploring new thresholds of sensory perception. One hundred and twenty trees covered with different patterns (natural barks photographed and manipulated) become dynamic columns. Different light sources reinvent the space re-establishing harmony.
The flashes of the northern lights generate low,
curved and reflecting walls, which delimit the spaces of the bar-restaurant, services, meeting rooms and create paths through the forest.
The trees, arranged with skilful randomness,
become a network of signals to a path of discovery, where the areas of relevance of the 17 brands unfold their specific communication.
The mysterious forest communicates with the outside through a light and semi-transparent diaphragm of black net that unites and separates, a living and centripetal interface that protects the forest and calls the visitor to unveil them secrets.
